The South East Scottish Cancer Research Network (SESCRN) was one of the four Scottish Cancer Research Networks established with the support from Cancer in Scotland, The Chief Scientists Office (CSO) and Information Services Division (ISD).

The South East Scottish Cancer Research Network (SESCRN) covers Borders, Dumfries and Galloway, Fife and Lothian Health Board areas, with a population of around 1.4 million and supports research across these regions. Please select one of the regions below for more information.

To ensure research activity is support across the south east of Scotland, we also have a number of research nurses working in the Borders, Dumfries and Galloway and Fife. Not all trials are suitable for every hospital and sometimes trials need to be conducted in a large, specialised centre like the Edinburgh Cancer Centre. However, the local cancer hospitals run a wide selection of studies in a number of disease sites.
